Memories of the Frio River

Cadence Boudreaux stopping from her time at the Frio River to take a picture. Cadence enjoys playing in the water, eating marshmallows, playing in the sand, and making new friends.

Jasmine Boudreaux also taking some time out of her busy schedule at the Frio River. Jasmine enjoys making new friends, meeting up each year with her old friends, swimming, swinging from the ropes, catching bugs, roasting marshmallows, and dancing.

One of the things the kids enjoy most is what we all enjoyed when we were young - swinging from a rope on a huge tree. This tree happens to be one of the oldest in the Riverbend campgrounds. Many weddings have taken place under this tree and wil continue to do so for years to come.

Nothing beats the Texas heat like the cold, crystal clear waters of the Frio River. The Frio River travels through the Uvalde County area of Texas located Northwest of San Antonio. To this day, the Frio River consistently rates in the Top 10 of swimming holes in Texas.

You just cannot talk about the Frio without mentioning Garner State Park somewhere in the conversation. Most people know Garner for the Dancefloor. Seeing kids get asked for their first dances is a thing of magic an innocence. Watching boys get over their fears, and girls blush red as roses. This is what it is all about. Here you can see Jasmine with Dalton who both got their first dances this year.

The most enjoyable part of the Frio River vacations we take are the people we meet. Having gone for over 14 years now, we have come to meet many families and make many friends. Our most recent group of friends that we enjoy sharing our memories with is the Petter ~ Perry Family. If you see us on the river - watch out. We can get rowdy and be a blast to hang out with all at the same time. I have said it before and will say it again - "Nothing beats the Frio River"
